Co-Founder: Greg Brandon

Greg Brandon is co-founder and principal for Triad Consulting. Greg has over 25 years of experience in consulting, design, project management and executive leadership. Starting his career working for leading telecommunication companies, then transitioning to the security industry including security and alarm system integrators and manufacturers such as Pinkerton, API, and Simplex-Grinnell, Greg’s career includes 15 years of consulting with 8 years leading the nation’s largest security management consulting and system design practice for a national engineering firm.

Greg has exceptional knowledge of the security consulting profession from strategic planning through operational consulting, physical and electronic systems design and implementation to managed services. Greg’s experience runs from government, healthcare, education, transportation, utility, air/seaport and energy critical infrastructure sectors to industrial, commercial and hospitality clients large and small.

Greg has a bachelor’s degree in communications (BAC) from California State University Fullerton. He is a member of ASIS International and the Los Angeles chapter of InfraGard. Through project oversight, Greg ensures that all projects receive the full benefit of Triad Consulting’s extensive project management and quality assurance programs. Greg looks forward to continuing to guide Triad Consulting forward as one of the preeminent security consulting firms in the nation.

Co-Founder: Mike Ulwelling

Mike Ulwelling, CPP, is co-founder and managing director of Triad Consulting. Mike has over 20 years of experience as a security consultant, business development executive, system designer, and project manager, working for alarm and security manufacturers, integrators and consultants. He also has an extensive background in developing electronic security system requirements, conducting vulnerability assessments and providing detailed project oversight.

Mike is also known for his expertise in fire alarm system analysis and design. While at a nationally known fire alarm manufacturer and system integrator, Mike excelled at technical sales, evaluation of existing systems for code compliance and obsolescence, stand-alone and networked system design and project management. On multiple occasions Mike attained the highest level of corporate recognition awarded for annual performance.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University and a master’s degree in business management from Pepperdine University. He is board certified in security management as a certified protection professional (CPP) through ASIS International. He is a member of ASIS International and National Fire Protection Association.

Mike gained extensive experience with companies such as Johnson Controls, Simplex-Grinnell, Quickset International, Custom Federal, and TRC Solutions while serving sectors such as higher education, transportation, healthcare, civic, federal, air/seaport, water and wastewater, hospitality, entertainment and commercial high-rise. With a background in alarm and security as well as business development strategy, Mike enjoys his mission of sustaining Triad Consulting’s rapid growth through application of knowledge, experience, values and aptitude.

Consulting Practice Lead: Rick Withers

Rick Withers, CPP, CISM, CMAS, CHS-III, is a senior security consultant and project manager with Triad Consulting. He has over 30 years of experience as a security consultant, corporate chief security officer (CSO), deputy federal security director (DFSD) with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and U.S. Marine (LDO Ret.) counterintelligence officer. He also has an extensive background in developing policies, requirements, procedures, guidelines and organizational security architectures regarding physical, personnel, project, information and information system security. Additionally, Rick brings solid experience in counter-terrorism, TSCM, security risk management, CPTED, technical, physical, information and personnel security.

For 2015, Rick is the inaugural co-chairman of the Security Applied Sciences Council for ASIS International. There, he provides expertise, leading senior security technology thought leaders from a myriad of public and private agencies and organizations to guide and influence the design, development, evaluation and testing of emerging technologies; promote best practices; assist with recognizing technology and business vulnerabilities; and recommends strategies to mitigate those risk before the technology is introduced into the market place. In 2004 and 2005, Rick served as the chairman of the Information Technology Security Council of ASIS International. There, he provided expertise in the technical challenges facing organizations that attempt convergence of physical security equipment and systems with information systems.

Rick has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and criminology from the University of Maryland and a master’s degrees in security management and computer resources and information management from Webster University. He also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching security management and criminal justice courses. Rick is a member of ASIS International and the Los Angeles chapter of FBI-InfraGard, the partnership between the FBI and the private sector. He is board certified in security management as a certified protection professional (CPP) through ASIS International. He also holds certifications as a certified information security manager (CISM), certified master anti-terrorist specialist (CMAS) and is certified in homeland security (CHS-Level III).

Rick has extensive security consulting and planning experience in industries such as transportation, civic, federal, DoD, air/seaport, water and wastewater, power, faith, legal and higher education sectors.

System Design Practice Lead: Dave Skusek

Dave Skusek is a senior systems engineer with over 30 years of controls and security systems design experience, working for industry-prominent security consulting and system design firms. Dave has contributed to the security of many of our nation’s critical infrastructures through the design and engineering of electronic security systems for iconic bridges, historic municipal structures, major airports, medical centers, transportation centers, courthouses, colleges and universities, water and wastewater agencies, correctional facilities and high-rise buildings.

Adding benefit to Triad Consulting clients, Dave has exceptional design experience with copper, fiber, wired and wireless network infrastructures. Formerly a field technician and programmer, Dave garnered valuable insight into constructability that is channeled into both design and construction oversight.

Dave is recognized nationally as a security technology expert with an exceptional grasp of system differentiators. He has presented at security industry conferences on advanced security systems and continues to be on the forefront of the effective integration of electronic security systems. In addition, Dave has participated as a contributing expert for update of CSI Master Format Division 28 specifications. Dave is a member of ASIS International and the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI).
