City of Albuquerque Transportation Department
Albuquerque, NM
Project Timeframe: 2014-2015
Through an RFP process and based on our superior qualifications, Triad Consulting & System Design Group (Triad Consulting) was awarded a contract the City of Albuquerque, Department of Transportation (ABQ Ride) to provide security consulting and conceptual design services as part of a long-range security planning project to improve ABQ Ride’s operational and physical security.
The project for the largest transit organization in the state of New Mexico entailed three primary tasks. 1) Evaluation of the current transit enforcement structure, staffing, training, operating procedures, and equipment of ABQ Ride’s 24 person transit enforcement staff. 2) Provide system standards, guideline specifications, conceptual design, and cost estimates for expansion of video surveillance, access control, and intrusion alarm at ABQ Ride facilities. 3) Review and provide recommendations for improving communication, coordination, and cooperation with Albuquerque Police Department (APD).
Triad Consulting conducted numerous meetings with ABQ Ride stakeholders including transit enforcement personnel, facilities management, information technology, executive management, and APD. In addition, Triad Consulting performed site assessments of ABQ Ride facilities including bus maintenance facilities, transit centers, park & rides, enforcement and administration offices as well as participating in ride-a-longs with transit enforcement staff.
Deliverables for the project included a comprehensive, two volume report of findings, recommendations, conceptual designs, guideline specifications and cost estimates for physical and operational improvements.
